Trauma-Informed Care Training Experience from 8:30am to 12:30pm.

Trauma-informed care (TIC) is an intervention and organizational approach that focuses on how trauma may affect an individuals’s life and his or her response to behavioral health services from prevention through treatment.

Trauma refers to extreme stress that overwhelms a person’s ability to cope. It can be a single event, a series of events, or a chronic condition such as childhood neglect or domestic violence.

Presenter Information: Scott Webb is a trauma survivor himself who has worked in the behavioral health field for 30 years.  His career has included clinical, administrative and consultative work. Prior to his working at the State of Wisconsin Department of Health Services, he worked for a national employee assistance firm managing a national book of business providing as part of his duties, onsite trauma response services across the United States. Scott is currently the State Trauma-Informed Coordinator.  He holds a Master of Science in Education degree from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh and is a licensed clinical social worker.
